Why I started this website
It is a sad trend that as we grow up we gradually lose our fascination with understanding and questioning the natural world. As the daily problems pile up, questions about how plants use carbon dioxide, how tardigrades can survive in space and why are viruses not living things, occupy our attention less and less. And I think this is partially because of the availability of this information. It is nowadays much easier for me to google and find all sorts of gossip stories about the participants on Love Island than to find an in-depth explanation of photosynthesis. Basic information is easier to find, but textbooks and scientific articles with new or in-depth information are mostly behind paywall. So it would be easier for me to keep learning about Love Island after all since that information is free right?
I decided to start this website at a time when life is not going so great and learning is my only way to keep myself sane. Maybe somebody will also find the website interesting and useful, and maybe learning would keep them sane too. I hope that it would be interesting enough to steal some of your attention, give you ample information about viruses to wow your date with, and make you want to know more!
